Disinfection Guidelines for Chengdu Wesley Dialysis Equipments

Standardized disinfection and maintenance are important for the stable operation of hemodialysis equipment, ensuring the safety of clinical dialysis, preventing cross-infection, and prolonging the lifespan of the equipment. This guideline sets standardized disinfection regulations for the dialyzer reprocessing machie, RO water purification system, and W-T2008-B/W-T6008S dialysis machine, specifying the concentration of disinfectants, operation procedures, and disinfection frequencies. It is applicable to the daily compliance maintenance of all types of dialysis centers.

I. Attention for Disinfection of Dialyzer Reprocessing Machine

The daily cleaning of the resue machine, solution preparation, and final disinfection at the end of each day are all carried out using Renalin compound peracetic acid disinfectant solution, which we recommend. The standard concentration of the original solution: peracetic acid is approximately 5%, hydrogen peroxide is 20%-25%. After automatic dilution by the reprocessor, the working concentration is 3.5%. The whole process is used for pipeline cleaning, single batch of dialyzer cleaning, and final disinfection of all dialyzer reprocessing machine at the end of the day. It fully eliminates microorganisms and ensures a sterile environment for reprocessing process.

For deep protein removal maintenance, either sodium hypochlorite or the 409 special protein removal solution can be used. Depending on the frequency of equipment usage, this process should be carried out once every 1 to 3 months to remove residual protein dirt in the pipelines and prevent the growth of bacterial films and pipeline blockages.

II. Attention for Disinfection of RO Water Purification System

The dedicated disinfectant for  RO Water Purification System is 15%-20% peracetic acid solution. The pipelines should be disinfected once every 2-3 months. This will thoroughly remove the biofilms and residual bacteria in the pipelines. For the models with water storage tanks, no regular disinfection with chemicals is required. Instead, the disinfectant should be filled into the tank to achieve an integrated disinfection of the tank and the pipelines, eliminating the risk of secondary contamination of the water storage and ensuring that the dialysis water meets the standard.

III. W-T2008-B/W-T6008S Dialysis Machine Disinfection Specifications

This series of main units utilize 20%-25% citric acid for dual-effect calcium removal and disinfection, specifically addressing the problem of calcium and scale accumulation in equipment. During routine clinical use, hot citric acid disinfection must be carried out every shift to dissolve calcium salt deposits in the pipelines promptly, preventing abnormal equipment parameters and pipeline blockages. During equipment shutdown, maintenance, and idle periods, the citric acid cold disinfection mode can be used, which combines daily disinfection and deep maintenance, stabilizing equipment operation accuracy and extending equipment service life.

Operational Maintenance Advantages

This guide implements a standardized operation mode for equipment classification disinfection, precise drug concentration control, fixed operation frequency, and unified operation procedures. It avoids problems such as non-standard operation in traditional disinfection, ambiguous parameters, and lack of maintenance. It fully complies with industry compliance standards and provides a reliable guarantee for the safe and efficient operation of dialysis centers.
